Got this lock from a friend who was in Denmark recently. She got it from her host who has just replaced the front door lock. A pretty tricky pick with the short key pins in the back and nasty drivers.

Great job man. I&#39;m trying to pick 2 rukos I think same as you&#39;re one. I have no keys and I&#39;m fairly new to picking so I&#39;m finding it hard but I will try like you did. Medium hook start and then deeper to try finish setting pins. I hope I get it open, I want to see what&#39;s inside!<br>Thanks for sharing this...

          @ccmogs5757 04.04.2018->Yeah mostly euro"s (uPVC ) in the UK now , but not that long ago it was nearly all wooden doors with Yale type locks :]

          @ccmogs5757 06.04.2018->True, most commercial/public internal doors are lever type plus years ago most domestic properties (especially Local Authority housing) were Yale cylinder - front door & 3/5 lever - back door :]

I believe those pins are hardened then centerless ground to dimension.

          @douro20 03.04.2018->Potti314 They are steel. It would be quite difficult and take more machining time to lathe cut them, especially to the tolerances demanded by ASSA.

I only see oval cylinders used in commercial applications here.

Great picking Michael, Ruko are awesome locks to pick, I have some from my friend oceanaut and they are locks that teach to pick. Great vid buddy, thanks for showing ;o))

Having this older lock open is great but I have a Ruko Assa 2 padlock with a brand new Roku core in it - just looks the same as the one in the video but I had luck yet. The bitting is easier but the feedback is weird - I feel like I had never picked open a lock before ;-)
          @TallanPick 04.04.2018->I know how you are talking about, I have a new Ruko 6 pin oval lock and it is really nasty, I think the problem is that the contact between the pick and pins is very easily lost and we do not realize it. To open them you have to be very precise when pushing the pins. It only remains to continue practicing, don't give up, sure we will see the video of that Ruko2 soon ;o))

This us a 600 series. The gin bottle pins were only used in the 500 (and occasionally in the extremely rare 700) series, which also had the core with mantel.
          @Potti314 03.04.2018->Ah, ok. Thanks for the info. I was thinking that the drivers of my Ruko are just the newer pins and the other shape (as shown by my red model) you can find in older models.
