------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @schwarzesschaf1043 09.01.2024 thanks a lot for this simple but genious idea to test the picks in a disassembled lock! i've just put in my longest & shortest keypins to validate it depends on my skills and not my tools, wich won't allow me to open my BKS's ... and to be sure, wich work helps a lot with these little beasts, instead of switching tools all the time ;)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @NIGBEE-lock-bothering 11.10.2022 Thanks for a brilliant analytical pick, was a pleasure to watch
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @LadyLocks 20.09.2022 Loved this video!! What a great explanation of everything that was going on! Great job picking that one also!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @testboga5991 01.05.2020 Nice video. The bks is a diabolical lock, indeed. Mine had the same features. @Potti314 02.05.2020->Yes, they make me fear as soon as I see "BKS" ;-)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @bigdavelamb 24.04.2020 Beautifully done. With really interesting explanations, great work! @Potti314 24.04.2020->Thanks - glad you found it useful.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @Dazzc2011 02.03.2018 Great explanations and nicely picked           @Potti314 03.03.2018->Thank you a lot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @waddac2 10.01.2018 Great video and explanation Michael buddy ;o))))           @Potti314 10.01.2018->Thanks buddy :-)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @TallanPick 08.01.2018 Great analisys of one of the coolest keyway I got, brilliant. Like you, I spent a lot of time strugling with two BKS I own. the key way looks like a yale, but it isn´t, is an evil keyway, very restrictive, I love its simplicity ;o)) Very well done my friend, I will check my pick arsenal and make a analisys like you to defeat these locks, I will also do it with the Asec (I hate them LOL). Thanks for the cool vid and, of course, great picking my friend ;o))) @Potti314 09.01.2018->Thanks a lot buddy. BKS are tough locks. Yes, keyway is more paracentric and thinner. Good luck with your lock my friend. @TallanPick 09.01.2018->Cheers! buddy ;o))
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @NoctisMotus 08.01.2018 Interesting video. Kind of fun when we need to change picks to get an open. @Potti314 09.01.2018->Thank you - yes we have a lot of different picks in our arsenal and depending on the pin position, pin type or height different picks work differently. I heard once that it's bad style to change picks - but I don't care ;-) @NoctisMotus 09.01.2018->Bad style? Rubbish! Depending on configuration, sometimes it is essential. Some people think they are too f*cking cool. Screw them. :) @Potti314 09.01.2018->Yeah ;-)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @johnmccormick2883 07.01.2018 Many thanks for the very educational video!
The paracentric keyway created the pin 4 overset trap? I’m a noob to this ...
also the front pins required a third type of pick ... that has to be the most challenging lock I’ve seen so far!
Question was that a stock lock? @Potti314 07.01.2018->Thank you. Yes, the fourth pin is easily overset when attempting to set #5. Imagine that you usually don't know the bitting in advance and have to deduce all this by feeling. The thing with the front pins is that when going sideways I cannot apply enough force to set the spools without resetting other pins - so I like to go straight on these. And yes, this is a standard (stock) lock.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @WilliamMancel 07.01.2018 I like your scientific approach my friend. Figuring out which pick to use by checking the core was an excellent tip. I remember watching the neighbors shed being locked video. Great explanation of what was happening with the lock. ??? @Potti314 07.01.2018->Thank you. This approach lets me learn the technique - but to pick a lock in the field by just feeling is another thing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @LockNoob 07.01.2018 Nice picking and explanation. A great video for showing new and intermediate pickers different approaches to a hard lock. Tallan used a ridiculously deep hook on his latest vid too :-) have you tried the ssdev picks on this? @Potti314 07.01.2018->Thank you. Yes, I tried the Sparrows but the reach is not good enough for the 2rd pin. @UBA_NOOB 03.01.2022->As a total noob, my end goal is to pick a euro cylinder. This video is the clearest explanation I have found where it explained why each pick was suitable and how to use each pick differently in the paracentric warding. Thank you so much. @matt79de 23.07.2022->@@Potti314 For me, with the Multipick cutaway practise lock (which is a very nice BKS PZ), the medium Sparrows SSDeV hook (from the set of three) works using your third method all along. (I can do the whole lock using only that pick.) Admittedly, mine has the deep cut in 3, protecting two high cuts in 4 and 5. The "downside" of that particular pick is the very pointy tip, so there's some slipping involved. ;) But it's a very pleasant surprise to see what that profile can do in locks like that. It may however not work beyond 5 or 6 pins tops because of the growing shank height towards the handle.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @Gazz_R 07.01.2018 Thanks for taking the time to go into detail. Great picking as always. @Potti314 07.01.2018->Thanks for watching all these details ;-)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @Leonslockpad 07.01.2018 Great info my friend and very cool.my next vid has the foxxy abus gutting on it????????? @Potti314 07.01.2018->Thank you mate - looking forward to the gutting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @funkeyfastdrawmonkey1483 07.01.2018 Excellent tutorial on the techniques of different picks ? @Potti314 07.01.2018->Thank you.
